Additional Notes

1) A “format” is a period in which there has been no change in the number of permissible cards available to play, either in terms of quantity of permissible cards, or in their permitted number. Thus, any new printing or Banned and Restricted List change, or major change in functionality, creates a new “format.”
2) A format must be more than a brief period (such as just a week). Any changes that are just a few days are not considered separate formats under this approach.
3) Vintage has been rebranded several times. See notes and citations to format # 2, 11, and 54 for rebranding details.
