Madison Offensive 2020 Team Tactical Event

The Lords of the Pit are proud to announce the fourth annual Madison Offensive, a charity event in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday February 1, 2020.

Event Entry and Prizes

The Madison Offensive 2020 event will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020.
Event start time is 12:00pm (please arrive by 11:45am to check in, get set up, and do card signing).
Event structure and length is TBD (depending on number of players), and will be either be SWISS+1 or SWISS PLUS TOP 2 PLAYOFF (top 2 teams at end of SWISS). There will be no draws allowed, and at the end of 50 minutes if there is a tied match there can be 5 additional turns in any game necessary, and then players will do a sudden death Chaos Orb flipping contest (complete details in our Old School 93-94 rules here). Play a fun deck, imbibe, and have a blast with friends new and old!
Prizes will again be awarded by the Lords of the Pit, and we will have cards on hand for everyone to sign.
Entrance Fee will be donations (suggested amount $15 or more) to the ALS Association, a 501(c)3 charity organization that funds research for ALS, and creating cures for the people who live with it. Please donate online at the link above on game day, and you should receive a receipt via email for confirmation.

Event Format and Rules

This is a team event, with 3 person teams, and each team bringing one deck of each of the following formats:
Vintage
Old School 93-94
Middle School

The pages above always have a complete list of deck construction rules, sets allowed, errata, and the most up to date Banned and Restricted Lists. This is a non-proxy event, and per the rules above you are allowed to play any legal reprint defined in the rules linked above. If you need to borrow something, please contact Jaco ahead of time to utilize the EC Lending Library. Players may not change cards in any deck during the tournament, but any player on the team may play any of the decks/seats in any round (to allow switching between decks if one player was discouraged or bored with format, for example).

Decklists are required, and for your decklist please take a single clear and accurate photo of your full deck and sideboard ahead of time (or that morning on site), and email it to eternalcentral@gmail.com before the event begins.

Event Site

Event Location:
Der Rathskeller

Preregistration

This is a private invitation only event, with a capped number of players due to space. Invitations to local clubs are in the works. You may form your own 3 person teams at will, and let me know your 3 person team once you have it locked in to confirm registration. After Party and Weekend Plans

For individuals staying overnight, we will be organizing another informal afterparty (playing Old School 95 and Middle School) at Essen Haus, another local German bar in Madison, later the same night (Saturday, February 1, starting at 7:30pm). We have room reserved for roughly 24 people at this spot. So just show up and find one of the Lords when you arrive at Essen Haus.
